Camp Bucket Fillers

We have had a great start to camp!  It was fun to head out to the tents and have our guest counselors teach us some campfire songs and show us how to start a campfire.

We also had fun making Reading Rocks.  These will be our buddies that we will read to during camp.  Students will bring them home at the end of camp and can read to their buddy all summer!

Even though the Wellness Olympics didn't turn out the way we hoped, everyone worked hard together and tried their best.  Thanks to all the volunteers who came out and attempted to teach some strategy!

Another Surprise Mystery Reader.

Thanks to Caroline's Grandma for coming in to read to us. We loved all of the teddy bears!

More Rainforest Learning and Telling Time

We loved seeing pictures from Mrs. Wooddruff's visit to Rwanda!  We are also learning how to tell time. First grade students are expected to tell time to the half hour. We've worked on that this past week. We will continue to practice that and even extend ourselves by learning how to tell time in 5 minute intervals!

We love our Mystery Readers!

PIC Learning

We started out PIC learning by studying the continent of Africa, learning about mountain gorillas from Miss Charlene and enjoying drums and dancing with Mr. Dimande.

Miss Charlene told us all about her time in Rwanda with the gorillas.

We had fun drumming and dancing with Mr. Dimande.

After we researched about Africa, we shared our knowledge with Mrs. Clouse's kindergarten class.
